halloween decor for lazy people

Also!  I saw this candle trick on Martha years ago...Lay down newspaper and drip the melting wax from a bright red candle directly over the white or (harder to find) black tapers.  Use a gothic looking wine bottle as candleholder.

Combine that with two carved pumpkins, some spider garland, and a glow-in-the-dark skeleton and we're set!

(I'm dressed as a glam rocker at work today, by the way.  I've already given out a couple of autographs...)

I first saw this in a magazine many years ago and it's still my favorite way to get to know someone (by bothering them until they fill out my chart).

Just make lists in each box and have your friends/coworkers/date make lists.  It's a chance to be witty...channel that somewhat secret NERD inside yourself that loves things you know you shouldn't.

The "supposed to" just comes from someplace deep inside - you'll know...

Anyone with me on the fake nacho cheese?

This is the commercial which first made me want a dog and we've been working on it since. Then this weekend, we ran into a nice lady in the park with two little Westies - she gave us all kinds of encouragement about their breed. They were darling - John even thought so. So exciting!

weather report

Oregon Fall, sunny and crisp, may need to defrost car before driving to work, notice many acorns and leaves on sidewalk, very smug squirrels, pinkish sky at twilight, brisk air after dark.  That's the weather, by Texas.

(Whenever Texas goes out at night these days I imagine he is trotting off to the neighborhood pub for his usual scotch and lively conversation...)
